Scrapcrafting at Westonbirt: Spring Leaves Textile Art
Scrapcrafting at Westonbirt: Spring Leaves Textile Art
Peace&Craft on tour - make beautiful things in inspiring environments.
Venue: Westonbirt Arboretum
Date: 21st April 2023
Time: 10-1, 3 hours
Enjoy a peaceful morning with a small group of fellow stitcher crafters and learn to look at your textile scraps differently in these low-pressure scrapcrafting sessions. You’ll enjoy an inspirational collection of remnant materials from the 'scraps buffet' - textiles, papers, haberdashery, fibres, wire, lace... reclaimed, vintage, luxe, surprising... always beautiful and always interesting.
Follow example demonstrations and simple steered tutorials to make textile leaf sprays (with sew or no-sew options) and/or handstitched leaf hanging decorations or artwork.
Craft or sewing experience is not essential but very welcome. Whether you've never put thread to needle, or are a skilled crafter already, this is a no-rules creativity that focuses as much on the process and experience as the results.
What to bring: includes all materials, guidance & tuition, complimentary day entry to the arboretum, tea/coffee & cake. Own pre-prepared light snacks, water bottles and/or other drinks are welcome.
Participants often bring their own small sewing kit and scissors ('not special' or kitchen type scissors will also be used in this project as well as fabric scissors/thread snips. Alternatively, shared tools will be available to use on the day.
Cancellation policy
A full refund of payment for the workshop will be given for cancellations up to 7 days before the event only if the place can be filled by another person, minus a 10% admin fee. Consideration is appreciated.
We reserve the right to cancel a workshop in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given.
We appreciate it can be complicated, but neither AnnaJane or the venue can be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other 'bigger' situations that are out of our control. If this type of scenario causes postponement, we will seek to rearrange the workshop for an alternative date.
